The honey melter and pasteurizer carry out these processes:
- melting crystallized honey,
- a heat processing for eliminating bacteria or yeast which may cause deterioration of honey,
- filter for honey cleansing to eliminate different dirt like bits of honeycomb, grass, air bubbles, bee larvae, or glucose crystals, which become centers of crystallization and cause accelerated honey crystallization.

Design and principle of operation
The honey melter and filter Normit PCHU is mainly applied in the honey process lines prior to the fillers or prior to the creamed honey manufacturing unit.
Honey is warmed under low temperature. After going over the filter, the honey is quickly cooled in the second section, which ensures the preservation of all the beneficial properties of the honey. The heating and cooling temperature of the honey processing are controlled with a control system.
The continuous method guarantees an even heat treatment of the whole honey batch and averts overheating – which mostly happens if honey is melted in a drum.
The honey processing mechanism PCHU comprises of 2 tubular heat exchangers, a heating vessel, heaters, pipes, a pump for media circulation, a pump for product circulation, a filter and a control panel.
Honey is pumped into the first heat exchanger, where it is melted, then passing through the filter fitted with removable sieves. Subsequently, the honey gets chilled, and goes on to additional processing (filling, etc).
The Normit PCHU processing plant is a versatile tool for the manufacturer to themselves regulate honey-processing parameters such as heating temperature, duration of heat treatment, honey pressure when pumping through the filtration system and the size of cells in the filter grid.
Competent handling of these settings signify that it is possible to manufacture organic, impurities-free honey, which preserves all nutrients, and is yet completely sterile, and purified of pollen.
An automated control panel, enables you to control the temperature and duration of heating, as well as the rate and pressure at which the honey passes through the plant.
